Table (Buffet) for Two

One of our favorite restaurant experiences is what I call the Personal Buffet. It is the kind of magic where the table is filled with many dishes to try, family style, but it is just for our little family of two. Load it up!

Literally 'rice table' this was our first meal in Amsterdam, and we still talk about it to this day. This is the perfect blend of Indonesian and Dutch cuisine. Many, many, many little dishes are brought to the table, so you are surrounded by history via cuisine.

It was so good, we immediately booked a second restaurant for the next day. (I can recommend Sampurna, sadly, our favorite, Kantjil & De Tijger has permanently closed.)

Fried Chicken Feast

The best fried chicken I have ever eaten! I love those little sauces.

My brother in law was the first one to tell us about this fancy fried chicken restaurant COQODAQ. We enjoyed the feast for lunch on one of those perfect spring days in New York City. The meal is fairly priced and it is plenty of food. The only thing I would change?

Soy Garlic and Gochujang Glaze. You can opt to try them both!

We would go back at dinner time so that we could enjoy some champagne with our meal. I first heard about Champagne & Fried Chicken as a perfect pairing when reading Dave Grohl's book. I can verify this as fact. We just didn't want to get bubble wasted early in the day.

If you are feeling indulgent, you can try 'The Golden Nugget' (cost per piece for a little nuggie topped with varying levels of caviar).

Banchan

The restaurant Best Friend is housed in the Park MGM in Las Vegas. I have been there multiple times with my Bestie, Spencer, and one time for a birthday celebration with my other Bestie, Stacy. It is reasonably priced and the food just keeps on coming. I love any kind of banchan and that spicy, delectable Slippery Shrimp will forever live in my foodie dreams.

We ate every delicious bite.

Frankfurt, Germany is an excellent place to sample food from around the world. At the restaurant Im Herzen Afrikas (In the Heart of Africa) we enjoyed many Eritrean dishes on a giant platter. We loved trying the injera (anything that is bread is a-okay in my book) and used it as a tool to scoop up delicious bites, as is the custom-no utensils are needed. This is perhaps the friendliest place I have ever eaten. We were welcomed in like family, and so many people stopped by to see how we were liking our experience. The meal ended with dessert and a surprise treat.

I loved the vibe and the message.

Can't take her anywhere.
